Just Say Shema

The PJ Library and the Bureau of Jewish Education of Rhode Island are proud to partner with the Providence Community Kollel and The Kollel Center for Jewish Studies for the Just Say Shema Program. The PJ Library book, The Bedtime Sh’ma, written by Sarah Gershman, is an excellent way to teach your child the Shema and to tailor a bedtime routine that is specific to your child’s individual needs. Good Night books help your child to relax and feel safe before falling asleep.

Just Say Shema is a dynamic and exciting project and is a beautiful way for children in our community to share a common experience. Each evening before going to bed, say the Shema with your child and put a sticker on the Shema calendar. For each week that your child fills the chart, they will be entered into our raffle to win great prizes. All drawings will be held at Providence Kollel's gala event to be held on May 2nd (details to follow).

All families on the PJ Library mailing list will be receiving a mailing with the Shema card and calendar by the end of next week. You can also download these and print them yourself.  Click here for the calendar. And click here to download the Shema card.

At the end of the month mail your child's chart to:
